People cope with stress in different ways—many choose to rest and relax, while others give themselves impromptu hair makeovers. Since home quarantines started in several countries, we’ve seen netizens sharing hair tips and showing off the makeovers they’ve done on themselves or their housemates.
If you’re thinking of changing your hairstyle or just want to play around with the accessories you have at home, here’s what you can do:
Braid your hair
Spring 2020 runways showcased braided ponytails, which is pretty easy to do and a great way to get beach waves.
Do a messy bun
NGL, a messy top bun has been my go-to in keeping my hair in place while I work. It’s the lazy hairstyle that’s also easy to accessorize with clips or headbands.
Give yourself bangs
This is an easy fix for people who want to change their hairstyle. All you need is a pair of scissors and a clear idea on the kind of bangs you want. If you want, you can give yourself a full fringe.
Change your hair color
If you have leftover hair dye lying around at home, it might be time for you to experiment on new hair color. You can choose either subtle highlights and ombrés, or go for something vibrant like pink or red. Some personalities like Elle Fanning and Bretman Rock have done the latter.
Color touch-up
We understand some people with colored hair don’t like it when their roots start to show. If you know how to dye your own hair and have the products to do so, then feel free to retouch your roots. You can also ask your hairstylist for help via text or video call.
Grow out your natural gray hair
Celebrities like Tia Mowry, Tamera Mowry and Kelly Ripa are flaunting their gray hair, saying that they’re keeping them untouched while in quarantine. Let’s hope we see the same energy after quarantine because gray hair isn’t something people should be ashamed of.
