Directioners, itâs happening. After going on hiatus (or disbandingâdepending on which side of the fandom youâre on) in 2015, One Direction is finally reuniting.
In an Instagram Live with DJ Alesso, Liam Payne responded to the rumors and confirmed the news that One Direction is planning a reunion. He said that heâs been speaking to Niall Horan about arranging a group FaceTime with the 1D boys since âmost of us are in London.â
âI canât say too much. Louis (Tomlinson) told me off for revealing a bit of our plans the other day, so youâre going to have the group chat telling me off,â said Payne.
âThe whole world is about to explode,â said Alesso of the news. Payne also offered him to take Zayn Malikâs spot, which also confirms that the ex-1D member, who left in March 2015, wonât be joining the reunion. (Sad?)
The reunion rumors started when Payne told The Sun that the band has been talking about doing something for their 10-year anniversary.
âWeâve got a 10-year anniversary coming up so weâve all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice,â he said. âYou hear a lot of peopleâs voices and seeing old content and different things that we havenât seen for a long time or never seen before, itâs very interesting.â
Naturally, Directioners are freaking out on social media. Who can blame them? Theyâve been waiting for this moment for years.
Excuse us as we play all our favorite 1D albums the whole day.
