A new version of “A Whole New World” is finally out, and fans are sooo in love with Zayn Malik and Zhavia Ward’s rendition. So much that they’re wishing Zayn could’ve played Aladdin in the live-action film.
bruh there's also many different versions of a whole new world and zayn's on all of them, mans said if y'all can't make me Aladdin then I'll make the entire soundtrack my bitch pic.twitter.com/Bsvs2T8Mbo
However, as Hello Giggles pointed out, it’s likely that Zayn didn’t get the role because he’s Pakistani. Aladdin is from the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah, which is based on Baghdad, Iraq in the Middle East. Pakistan, on the other hand, is a South Asian country. Giving Zayn the role would’ve caused more race-related issues in Hollywood.
At least we have Zayn singing in the Aladdin soundtrack now. If you haven’t seen the music video yet, check it out below.
