The Office of Sen. Risa Hontiveros announced today (Apr. 20) that they are now accepting bookings for their Teletherapy services.
In partnership with behavioral healthcare system MindNation, Sen. Hontiveros started this campaign to help people who might be feeling distressed during the pandemic. Employees and students based in the Philippines and Singapore can sign up here to get free 30-minute consultations with licensed psychologists from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Apr. 30.
“Hindi madali para sa ating lahat ang quarantine. Ngunit hindi kayo nag-iisa. Habang inaalagaan natin ang ating pisikal na kalusugan, huwag kalimutan ang kalusugang pangkaisipan,” (The quarantine is not easy for everyone, but you are not alone. While we’re taking care of our physical health, we shouldn’t forget our mental health) tweeted Sen. Hontiveros.
Sen. Hontiveros is a known mental health and women’s rights advocate. Before launching Teletherapy, her office also partnered with Lunas Collective, a volunteer-operated service that provides support for survivors of gender-based violence and people who may have concerns regarding family planning during the enhanced community quarantine. People experiencing any form of abuse can message the Facebook page to receive psychosocial counseling from Monday to Saturday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you’re looking for assistance, you can reach out to the platforms mentioned above. Remember that your mental and emotional well-being is just as important during this turbulent time.
