Two months after the ECQ was placed, we’re starting to slowly see it being lifted into the GCQ and bits of pre-ECQ life seeping in. Some malls have started opening again, and stores that have been completely closed are setting up shop again—of course, now with policies that reflect our new normal.
One of these shops is the bookworm-favorite National Book Store. “We’re back,” its Facebook page recently announced. Its online store is once again accepting orders (and shipping orders made pre-ECQ that didn’t get to be sent out because of the timing), although fulfillment times is only between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NBS noted, however, to still expect that there will be a delay in fulfilling orders during this time. “As we are operating with a limited workforce, response time to processes and correspondences may be affected. Rest assured that we will do our best to get your orders delivered to you at the soonest,” it wrote.
If you’re in a hurry, you can check out the store’s new “text to order” service, which is their new version of expedited shopping. Instead of going through the online store, you can text these four branches in Metro Manila for their “on-demand delivery service” or to reserve a product for pick up: their Glorietta branch for customers in Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Pasay, Pateros and Taguig; Powerplant Mall branch for customers in Makati, Mandaluyong and Pasig; Quezon Avenue branch for Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Navotas and Valenzuela and their superbranch in Cubao for Marikina, Quezon City and San Juan. Pro-tip, you can also text these branches to look for items that aren’t on the online store.
Aside from that, some of its physical stores around the country are also operational now thanks to the GCQ. You can see which ones are open on its Facebook page; NBS has helpfully uploaded an album which lists down its current operational stores.
