Don’t miss out on SoFA Design Institute’s free fashion and design webinar series scheduled today. The Philippines’ first specialized design institution has been offering a variety of online workshops and dialogues since the beginning of May. If you weren’t able to participate before, now’s your chance.
The business sector has taken a huge hit during the quarantine and a lot of freelancers are having a hard time looking for alternative sources of income. With the approval for Metro Manila’s transition to GQC, a lot of people are looking to get back on their feet and tweak their plans of action. SoFa’s webinar series that will be live-streamed today, May 29, aims to answer questions on “how design can shape our ‘new normal’” and how designers and other creatives “can move our brand new world forward.” It will feature two discussions from guest speakers PJ Almera and Cecille Rebollos.
Architect PJ Almera will be heading the first discussion called “How Trends Matter in Design: A Quick Demo on the Trendspotting Process” from 3:00 to 3:30 PM. Almera is the founder of Studio Almera and digital platform for trend insights ACIIID. He is also the creative director of Model Space Design Locale and home decor store Curoo. He is a professor at SoFa and the College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts.
Cecille Rebollos will have a 30-minute discussion called “Brand You for Fashion Professionals: Personal Branding in the New Normal” right after at 4:00 PM. Rebollos is a personal branding specialist and the head of the Institute of Beauty Entrepreneurship and the Australian College of Hair Design & Beauty. She has been helping create and share strategies for beautypreneurs who want to sustain profit during the pandemic.
If you want to take part in these timely conversations, you can catch the livestream on SoFa’s Facebook page.
