Whether vanilla sex is more your style or you’re into BDSM, you’ll want to catch director Whammy Alcazaren’s “Never Tear Us Apart.” The provocative Cinema One Originals feature film will be available for streaming on iWant pay-per-view for P30 as well as Sky pay-per-view for P99. Mark your calendars because your chance to see it starts on June 25 and ends on July 1.
“Never Tear Us Apart” is only one of the many films that are included in #CinemaAtHome, the Cinema One Originals’ Pride Film Festival. There are 15 films you can watch for free such as “Baka Bukas” and “Changing Partners.” However, other movies such as “Metamorphosis” and “Sila Sila” come at a price.
In the latest promotional video for “Never Tear Us Apart,” the words “We accept pay for your pleasure” are flashed after a clip of a dominatrix hitting a naked man with a leather riding crop. If that’s making you wonder whether its narrative is similar to the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise, I have to say that it’s far from it.
It stars Ricky Davao as an aging spy named Q whose wife named M, played by Meryll Soriano, is impregnated by a “rumored darkness” with a “grudge against promiscuous women.” Jasmine Curtis-Smith is a mysterious girl called Jane who will be making it harder for the couple to find a cure—we’ll leave it at that because we don’t want to reveal too much.
Will there be actual fisting in the movie? You may remember how its original title “Fisting” was replaced upon the request of Cinema One Originals two years ago. Here’s an excerpt from the movie’s synopsis that may clue you in: “He lays out the bodies of evidence before him: creatures hidden in museums, the difficult man befriended by his son, and ladies of the night who sit on hard secrets. He eases into them like a man carefully dipping his hand into a tub of warm water.”
If you still can’t picture this piece of local cinema in your head, that just means it might be the perfect pick to shake up your movie nights. Watch the trailer below.
