Upcoming book “Finding Freedom” claims to debunk Kate and Meghan feud

Albeit rumors of war between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle weren’t addressed by the palace, it doesn’t mean they’re all true. According to the upcoming book, “Finding Freedom,” they just weren’t close because Middleton thought they didn’t have anything in common.

According to the excerpt of the book (serialized by The Times), Markle expected Middleton to reach out to her and show her the ropes since the latter was in her position when she first married into the royal family. “But that was not how things turned out. Meghan was disappointed that she and Kate hadn’t bonded over the position they shared, but she wasn’t losing sleep over it,” the excerpt claims. “According to a source, Kate felt they didn’t have much in common ‘other than the fact that they lived at Kensington Palace.’”

Rumors of the feud between the two duchesses started when Prince Harry and Markle decided to move into Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, the excerpt claims further. It said that the palace just refused to correct or comment that the move was because of the supposed rivalry.

Written by royal insiders Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, “Finding Freedom” comes out next month with a promise to go beyond headlines. It will center on the unknown parts of Prince Harry and Markle’s life together and debunking all the rumors that surrounded them.

It is also said to touch on Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship and how it turned awkward once the latter questioned the pace of Prince Harry’s courtship of Markle.

Huffpost reached out to both the Kensington Palace and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comments, but while the Kensington Palace had nothing to say, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said in a statement that the couple did not participate in the book.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to ‘Finding Freedom,‘” the statement said. “This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”
