Kapamilya viewers can soon catch their favorite ABS-CBN shows on free TV channels once again.
On Oct. 6, the network announced that they will be airing some of their entertainment shows and movies on the A2Z channel 11, a.k.a. the rebranded Zoe TV, “through an agreement with ABS-CBN and Zoe Broadcasting Network Inc.”
According to Inquirer.net, Zoe TV is a free TV channel owned by the Jesus is Lord Church of evangelist Eddie Villanueva that began airing on Sky Cable on Oct. 5.
While we still don’t have a full list of the Kapamilya TV programs returning to free TV, variety shows “It’s Showtime” and “ASAP Natin ‘To” were confirmed to air on the A2Z channel 11 on Oct. 10 and Oct. 12 respectively. The A2Z channel 11 is a free TV channel available on analog TV in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. Viewers can also access it on Cignal TV’s channel 183 and Sky Cable’s channel 11.
On July 10, the House Committee on Legislative Franchises denied the network’s franchise renewal after a long and messy legal battle. The network giant has been off the air since the National Telecommunications Center shut them down after their franchise lapsed on May 4. Some of their programs have been broadcasted (and almost halted) via YouTube and Facebook through Kapamilya Online Live and cable and satellite TV on the Kapamilya Channel.
