What is the “Day of Miracles” on Jan 29 in astrology?

Heads up, astrology babes: The luckiest day of the year is coming on Jan 29. We interviewed Monica Lopez Gamboa, a professional Filipino astrologer currently working and studying with various astrologers in New York, to know what to expect on this celestial event called “Day of Miracles.” This auspicious day isn’t happening again until Mar. 5, 2022, so make sure your e-calendars are ready.

Gamboa said that the sun will align with Jupiter at 9 degrees of Aquarius at exactly 9:39 a.m. Philippine time on Jan 29. But signs of the good fortune this brings should manifest a few days before that and even days after, she added.

Now let’s simplify what “sun aligning with Jupiter” means:

“Jupiter brings luck and perhaps even miracles to the heavenly body it touches while the sun is our purpose, our essential self, the light of our lives, the energy that flows through us and carries us through this world,” said Gamboa. When this planet crosses paths with the sun, it expands awareness and opens opportunities for people, she added.

The sun aligning with Jupiter at 9 degrees of Aquarius suggests “bringing about an expression of the people’s voices. Take this time to reflect on whose voices now need to be heard.” The astrologer hinted that it means connecting with one another and expressing our truth.

“It (the alignment) is such a potent energy for collective social change,” Gamboa pointed out, adding that in a society stricken with ills and systemic problems, this urges us to explore in particular ways how we can support the marginalized. “How can we leverage technology and our community to help us do that?” she asked.

While that sounds extremely optimistic (*fingers-crossed: manifesting~*), the full moon in Leo on January 29 at exactly 3:16 a.m. is a time for culmination, insight and noting how your efforts are coming to fruition (yes, we’ll stay awake for this). Asking where you want to expand your life can give you a clearer direction on how to approach this celestial event, Gamboa advised.

Curious on how Jupiter would influence your star sign? Look at your rising sign and be wary of these aspects:

Aries – Community and friendships

Taurus – Career and public life

Gemini – Long-term plans, beliefs and spirituality

Cancer – Collaborations and investments

Leo – One-on-one partnerships

Virgo – Work and daily routines

Libra – Creativity work and romantic life

Scorpio – Home and family

Sagittarius – Writing projects and ideation

Capricorn – Resources and wealth

Aquarius – Self-expression and identity

Pisces – Behind-the-scenes work

According to Gamboa, we can make these positive manifestations come to life by being accepting of ideas and communicating openly. And if impostor syndrome has been preventing you from creating that project and starting that tremendous yet exciting plan of yours, perhaps the sun and the planets aligning can give you that boost of confidence. This isn’t to pressure you to delve into anything yet, as you should go into things at your own pace but ”if you are ready to birth your creations, this is the time to do so as well,” the astrologer recommended.

Beyond limiting the introspection, perhaps the most remarkable thing about this forecast is how it’s calling us to extend ourselves to the marginalized. Maybe the personal projects we’ve been delaying for too long can contribute to something greater than our own growth?

As Gamboa stated, the conjunction in Aquarius pushes us to listen, especially since this mess of a year further exposed the decaying system we are in (global pandemic, calamities brought by this worsening climate emergency on top of an incompetent government, triple yikes!). Hopefully the Day of Miracles and the reality of society’s ills would awaken the good in us and further expand our awareness to put our efforts into collective healing, action and community care. After all, it’s not only the planets playing in our lives, but also our ability to recognize how we each play a role in our immediate communities to build a better society.

If you’re interested to learn more about astrology, Gamboa recommended that it’s best to start with your own birth chart and look inward first to see how the planets are playing in your life before branching out. The astrologer, whose work is focused on personal empowerment, on uplifting and elevating those looking to live more purposeful lives, says her philosophy is that self-awareness is the key to loving, accepting and mastering one’s self.
