It seems like things are finally looking up for Britney Spears, with a string of wins coming her way: She was finally allowed  \to hire her own lawyer on July 14 and her father Jamie Spears announced that he intended to step down as her conservator on Aug. 12. Just these past few days, she’s had two more big wins. First, her father filed a petition on Sept. 8 to end her 13-year-old conservatorship. Second, as of today, Spears is finally engaged to her long-term boyfriend Sam Asghari.

“I can’t f*cking believe it,” Spears wrote in her Instagram post announcing her engagement.

She’s come a long way since her painful testimony on June 23—where she explained that her conservatorship did not grant her to exercise basic human rights like getting married, having babies, or even removing her IUD, and that she just “wanted to have [her] life back.”

Finally being able to marry Asghari, a fitness trainer she met on the set of her 2016 “Slumber Party” music video, is one huge step for Spears to express her control on her own life.

“That makes me so happy! I just wish her all the love and happiness in the world. She deserves it,” Spears’ old friend Paris Hilton exclaimed to Entertainment Online after hearing the news.

Hilton has been a staunch supporter of #FreeBritney, and had dedicated a recent episode of her podcast to talking about the end of the conservatorship. “I’m just so proud and so happy for you, Britney. You deserve all the happiness and freedom in the world… I’m so happy justice is being served and you are finally going to have what you always wanted, to have your life back and be able to do things you want to do and enjoy your life and everything you’ve worked so hard for,” she said in the episode, adding, “I love you, I miss you, and I just can’t wait for this nightmare to be over for you.”

Meanwhile, one unexpected celebrity weighed in on Spears’ engagement. On Spears’ post, none other than Octavia Spencer herself commented, saying, “Make him sign a prenup (sic).” It very much gave off blunt but caring tita vibes. While I’m still wracking my brain trying to figure out how Spencer and Spears know each other, I do have to say that I wish Spencer would give me relationship advice too.
