Noticed by Blackpink and Sabrina Carpenter, Andrea Brillantes needs no man to be the main character

Imagine your fave international musicians hyping up your relationship and your breakups. Andrea Brillantes doesn’t have to. From getting Blackpink to help her with her promposal for ex-boyfriend Ricci Rivero to commiserating with Sabrina Carpenter (and a whole theater full of fans) about her breakups, it’s like the world is on Brillantes’ side.

While attending Carpenter’s Emails I Can’t Send Tour at New Frontier Theater on July 25, Brillantes, who was by the barricade, caught the singer’s attention. Carpenter extended the mic to her in an ultimate fangirl moment, asking, “Why is she mad? I wanna know!”

“Actually, I think they know!” Brillantes said into the mic, seemingly hinting at her recent breakup as the crowd cheered her on. “A lot of people have also kind of ruined my reputation in a way even though [the rumors are] not true. I’m also just a victim but I never told them anything. But with your songs, it was like you were the one who was speaking to them for me. That’s why I love your songs so much.”

Did the actress also make a reference about her breakup with former co-star Seth Fedelin and the online hate she received after news of tension brewing between her and Francine Diaz?

“Oh, it’s a guy?” asked Carpenter, intrigued. “No sh*t, it’s always a guy—I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” Hearing the crowd’s boisterous reaction, she added, “Say what? You all know this guy?”

The loud “yes” from the crowd further sparked Carpenter’s interest. “Is he here?” she asked. When the crowd answered “no,” she concluded, “Well, he doesn’t have taste.” Carpenter even fistbumped Brillantes when she shared how she decided to take the high road.

Brillantes then took to Twitter (we don’t want to call it X yet) to talk about the experience. “Ang panget ng english ko dun! She’s so freaking pretty and mesmerizing, I forgot how to think and to speak proper English. I’m so sorryyyyy. I was literally shaking. Di ako makapaniwala sa nangyayari eh!” she wrote.

“And thank you sa napaka-warm na crowd kanina! Very supportive also! Grabe, I was literally so scared when she called me kasi ayaw ko na magalit mga tao sakin. But this was a different experience. Thank you sa mga nandun,” she added.

Which songs on “Emails I Can’t Send” do you think Andrea Brillantes streamed the most?
