Kanye West has always been very public and ostentatious about his adoration for his wife Kim Kardashian—the rapper rented out a stadium on her birthday to propose to her—and when a man truly loves a woman, he will spare no expense on the day of her 35th birthday.
In Kanye’s case, that meant shelling out cash to the tune of $5 million—on a bejeweled bra.
Before you pass judgment, note that a bra with that price tag is a significant level up from the garish $40,000 Birkin he bought her last Christmas, which was painted on by artist George Kondo.
“It’s absolutely incredible and Kanye was instrumental in helping the design team come up with something special,” the source continues. “Kim is going to freak out but she’ll find it hard to not be able to wear it until she’s had the baby.”
Valid point, but Kim is about eight months pregnant by now, so she won’t have to wait that much longer.
Though the present itself hasn’t been revealed yet (we doubt it ever will, but you never know with Kim), there is extensive coverage of the surprise birthday party that Kanye had planned out for her at the Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas just outside of Calabasas, California.
Almost everybody was in full attendance, including Caitlyn Jenner, Kris Jenner and her boyfriend Corey Gamble, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Tyga, and Kourtney Kardashian. Khloe skipped the festivities to be at her husband Lamar’s side (the two have called off their divorce since the latter’s hospitalization), and even North West and her cousins Reign, Penelope, and Mason Disick appeared to have been left at home.
Kim’s birthday is almost like a national holiday in America with almost every news engine preparing a tribute to the reality star, from The Cut’s tongue-in-cheek portrait of life B.K. (before Kim), and People’s comprehensive “35 Things Kim Kardashian Taught Me About Life.”
Indeed, she must be the country’s national treasure—and doesn’t Kanye know it.
Happy birthday, Kim!
