Heart Evangelista Reveals Her Mother Didn’t Approve of Her Early Paintings

It seems like every other day, there is something in the news about Heart Evangelista. Nowadays, the actress introduces herself more to the media as Love Marie, her birth name, given her flourishing career in visual arts. And along with that are some stories on how career on canvas started.

She reveals that her mother would always scold her as a kid when she took to their walls at home for her first forays into painting. She then had her father to defend her. Heart tells Bandera that her father would tell his wife, “Let her do what she wants, she is gong to be an artist someday.”

Lo and behold, her father’s words did come true as Heart is now set for her second exhibit at the Ayala Museum. Entitled “Oceans Apart,” the exhibit will run from Jan. 30 to Feb. 10. Apart from that, Love Marie recently presented her collaboration with designer Mark Bumgarner in a gala which showed off 15 dresses hand-painted by Heart.

The lesson we can get here is how we should never let anyone get in the way of our dreams. Not even our own mothers.
