Derek Ramsay Comes to Ex-Girlfriend Angelica Panganiban’s Defense

Several media outlets have all but confirmed the breakup of power showbiz couple Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz. Oddly enough, the one person we haven’t heard much about this entire time is Angelica, which is uncharacteristic for the usually outspoken actress—she was, after all, one of Honor Thy Father’s most staunch defenders, especially during the MMFF controversy.

Her silence is perhaps the reason why her every move is being followed and scrutinized: When the breakup rumors first surfaced last month, a few astute followers noticed the she re-followed ex-boyfriend Derek Ramsay on Instagram. (When the two broke up in 2012, she un-followed him on all social media.)

To whoever helps Angelica manage her social media accounts: There’s nothing wrong with letting a girlfriend follow her ex on Insta, especially if both parties have moved on, but to let her do it while people speculate that she’s having trouble with her current squeeze? Bad timing! No wonder people won’t quit with the rumors, which must be reaching fever pitch because Inquirer.net recently published a statement from Derek on the issue:

“Let’s give respect to Angelica—she isn’t that kind of girl. I don’t believe that they broke up, and even if they did, she wouldn’t try to communicate with another guy just because of that. She’s a strong woman—she knows how to handle pain. I don’t believe the rumors going around because, from what I know, she is very happy.”

Which confirms what we’ve suspected all along: You know nothing, Derek Ramsay.

And with that, the hearsay continues until we get an official statement from either Angelica or John Lloyd’s camps.

ICYMI, here’s what we know so far: Last week, there were rumored sightings of John Lloyd going on a romantic get-away with One More Chance co-star Bea Alonzo to Balesin Island Club. And while Bea’s relationship status with ex-boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo was made crystal clear last month, the score between John Lloyd and Angelica still hasn’t been settled, at least with the public.
