Tommy Esguerra and LA Aguinaldo on What Makes Madonna the Queen of Pop

“We all know that Madonna has fit into whatever standards that society or people gave her. She's like, 'This is who I am, this is what I believe in, and I [can] do whatever with my body, or how I should present it.' She's doing her own thing. She never conformed to society's standard, and she lived her own life the way she wanted to live it... Oh! And my favorite album is 'Madonna.'” —Tommy Esguerra, model, photographed with LA Aguinaldo

When going to an iconic show such as Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour, what do you expect to see? Well, that’s the thing: You have no clue what her fans are going to do or wear to show their love for her.

Before we entered the Mall of Asia Arena last night, we already saw fans who brought their fashion A-game by dressing up as the Queen of Pop would—Gaultier-inspired cone bras, beige corsets, their blonde wigs tied into really high ponytails, and the list goes on. Not to mention that they were also slaying their outfits as they stomped their way inside the venue while in killer heels.

This is the effect Madonna has on people, especially in a country where she’s never been to and where fans have waited for her ever since she rose to superstardom. There, we saw how the Queen spread her influence among her loyal subjects.

Aside from the stylish superfans, there were also celebrities who were equally excited to see the show (and were also fashionable, of course). We caught up with some of them at Globe’s VIP lounge before the show started to ask them about their favorite tracks and what they think makes Madonna the legendary artist that she is.

Click through the slideshow to see what they had to say about the Queen of Pop.
