One thing is for sure, Alden Richards is one popular dude—I mean, if the billboards all over Manila and his strong social media presence does not say enough then I don’t know what will. And when you’re that popular, every move and every relationship gets scrutinized.
Alden hails from Sta. Rosa, Laguna and because of that, the city is now more publicized and the relationships he has with the people. Alden is apparently very close (like second mom material) to Sta. Rosa mayor Arlene Arcinas even before he became a hot shot celebrity and since Mayor Arcinas is planning to run for Congress, Alden’s management asked him to stand neutral during elections period.
But to be clear and so that you can all stop panicking, he really wasn’t promoting anyone to begin with—just Maine Mendoza when she was nominated for Favorite Pinoy Personality for Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. And BTW, she won!
So I guess Alden will just continue focusing all of his efforts towards his career and of course, Maine.
