One thing is for sure, you should know better than to sneak in your dogs in countries that have biosecurity laws—learn from Hollywood couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Amber was prosecuted for sneaking in their two dogs in the Land Down Under this time last year. It is deemed to be the highest profile quarantine case ever as she emerged having to pay $1,000 for the one-month good behavior bond and no conviction after they pleaded guilty.
The best part though was that the couple had to release a public apology-slash-PSA that lets them talk about the benefits of having strict biosecurity laws in Australia with a straight face. Johnny Depp even added that Australians are quite unique as they are “both warm and direct.” They will, indeed, tell you off once you break their law!
If there’s one thing you should learn, you should always, always declare everything when you enter Australia because agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce will not bend the rules even if you have been named the sexiest man alive, twice.
