Do you ever find yourself having difficulty getting up early in the morning for work? Do you just wish that you’d get an afternoon shift so you can stay in bed longer. Well, it seems that incoming president Rodrigo Duterte is going to have that privilege.
In a recent press conference, he announced that his official hours at Malacañang will start at 1 p.m. “I will be working straight from 1 p.m. even if you want until 12 a.m.,” he says. “I don’t care about your 8 a.m. [to] 5 p.m. schedule. I’ll be sleeping by then. How can you make me work?”
But why is his hours different from everyone in the government? He adds that he’s also considering a daily commute from Davao to Manila until he gets used to his new home at the Palace. “My bed is here. My room is here. My home is my comfort zone. It’s important that I can sleep and take a shower comfortably,” he says.
We’re wondering if his preferred work hours will be conducive and productive compared to the usual. But for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
