Last night, news broke out that President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Vice-President Leni Robredo as the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Secretary.
The announcement, confirmed by Communciation Secretary Martin Andanar, comes with a twist as the president controversially stated that he doesn’t have a cabinet post for Leni. Rather, he had one for Leni’s rival, Bongbong Marcos.
But like what we’ve picked up on since the campaign season, Rodrigo talks a lot only to take back a lot. And he does it without much explanation, really. Neither formal statement from the Palace nor from Leni regarding the HUDCC appointment addressed Rodrigo’s former statements.
I guess that’s because that’s all in the past? What matters is the here and now, and it seems that our President and VP are becoming fast allies.
