MTCRB Calls Noontime Show Execs for Tito Sotto’s Inappropriate Comment

Yes, we’re quite positive over the MTCRB calling in Eat Bulaga execs for those insensitive, victim-blaming remarks Tito Sotto gave a show contestant as she was relating her story of getting abused by a friend.

MTRCB chairperson Eugenio Villareal said “Due to the program’s ‘Parental Guidance’ (PG) classification, (which allows it a younger audience) and taking into account norms of gender-sensitivity under the law (R.A. 9710), we invite authorized representative/s as well as those of the network concerned conference on 21 July 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at MTRCB Adjudication Room, MTRCB Building No. 18 Timog Avenue Quezon City.”

Who knew that aside from blatantly promoting rape culture and misogyny, Senator Tito Sotto may be found guilty of violating a Repulic Act? Tsk, tsk, Tito Sotto. Aside from cleaning up your act when it comes to women, better brush up on your knowledge of the law. You are a senator after all, aren’t you? And this is your nth term, correct? Now, that’s a real shame.
