Here’s an addition to President Rodrigo Duterte’s growing list of quotable quotes: He says that VP Leni Robredo is a distraction during meetings and that no one will listen to a female president.
In a recent press conference, Rodrigo repeatedly complimented Leni’s looks and lady-like demeanor. Not that there’s anything wrong with compliments, but saying she’s unfit to be a president because of her gender is another thing. I mean, has he forgotten that we’ve had two female presidents already?
Sometimes you just have to wonder what the real score is between the President and Vice-President. One minute he’s not giving her a cabinet position, next he warmly welcomes her to Malacañang. Now, he’s questioning her ability to rule. Seriously, what’s going on?
