Terrence Howard Was Mistaken for Cuba Gooding Jr. in Emmys-Related Tweet

On today’s award show bloopers: The TV Academy mistook Terrence Howard for Cuba Gooding Jr. during their live coverage of the 2016 Emmy Awards.

The tweet, now deleted, linked Terence’s photo with the caption: “Outstanding Actor in a Limited Series @cubagoodingjr at The #Emmys red carpet.” The TV Academy later corrected their caption in a new tweet, but still, this is a major slip considering that they’re the ones who are running the Emmys. Awkward.

Cuba is nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of O.J. Simpson in The People vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Meanwhile, Terrence is expected to present an award during the show.

Is it just us or is this a common occurrence during major award shows? Remember when Whoopi Goldberg was mistaken for Oprah Winfrey during the Oscars? Tsk, tsk.
