Get Off Your Butt and Support Local Cinema

The Cinema One Originals Film Festival 2016 is about to come to an end (you still have time to catch Baka Bukas and 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten), but that doesn’t mean you’ll stop watching locally-made independent films. In fact, this is the time where you can watch more local films than you used to.

One more title that you should add to your list is Toto, an award-winning funny film written directed by JP Yu and edited by Manet Dayrit. Sid Lucero portrays Toto, a hotel attendant who does anything and everything so he can get his hands on a US Visa—all because he wants to help his family.

As mentioned, it won several awards locally like bagging the Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress from last year’s MMFF New Wave Competition. They also won Best Foreign Feature Film and Best Actor in the L.A. Comedy Festival, and also won Audience Choice Award for Best Film in the Asian-American International Film Festival.

You now get the chance to appreciate and support the whole team and local cinema as a whole by watching Toto in cinemas all over the country on Nov. 23 and 24. You can watch in any of the following: Glorietta 4, Alabang Town Center, Trinoma, Market! Market!, Fairview Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, Rockwell Powerplant Mall, and Lucky China Town Mall.

So, what are you waiting for? Reserve your tickets and don’t forget to bring the troops.
