When Mel Gibson made his way through the Academy Awards red carpet, it wasn’t something out of the ordinary. He was nominated for Best Director for Hacksaw Ridge.
It was all normal that he also had someone on his arm with him. All normal until we realized that the small, lithe woman isn’t his daughter. Rosalind Ross is Mel’s 26-year-old girlfriend. He’s 61 and the father of nine children, the last being is his son with Rosalind, Lars. His eldest daughter is 36 years old.
Twitter had its due meltdown at the realization, as The Cut pointed out.
Kudos are due to Rosalind who’s rocking a body that’s red-carpet worthy just a month after giving birth. The age gap is eyebrow-raising, as much as we don’t want to judge. See our previous commentary on this type of relationship here.
We are also in agreement as to how we’ve forgotten Mel’s drunk driving meltdown in which he said he hated Jews and duly checked into rehab.
It’s all just water under the bridge now, perhaps. If an Oscar nomination gives you reputable status again, we’re waiting for the wonders Casey Affleck’s win is going to do for his reputation.
