Iza Calzado Gets Best Actress Nod at Osaka Asian Film Festival

Congratulations are in order as Iza Calzado bagged the Best Actress award at this year’s Osaka Asian Film Festival.

Iza latest film Bliss, directed by Jerrold Tarog, is one of nine Filipino entries included in the film festival. Sam Lee’s Baka Bukas and Avid Liongoren’s Saving Sally were also shortlisted.

In Bliss, Iza plays an actress-turned-producer who becomes crippled due to an accident. She later goes through a series of horrors while she’s recovering.

Although the film didn’t win Best Picture—the award went to Hong Kong film Mad World—this is still a big win for the actress. Also, we can’t wait for the local theaters to show this.

Again, congratulations and we hope Iza’s celebrating with more sushi and yakiniku in Osaka.
