After her successful performance at Wonderfruit in Pattaya, Thailand, there’s no stopping musician and all-around cool gal Jessica Connelly. Just a few weeks after her international stint, she gets picked up by Hypebae to share 10 things you did not know about her.
Jessica has this air of mystery, but that doesn’t make her unapproachable. She’s actually quite easy to talk to—she’s chill and very passionate especially with her music. Her online feature talks about how she easily marries her style in both fashion and music.
“Comfort is key for me, and oversized pieces make me feel sexy,” she said as she starts sharing one fact about her. “I prefer to throw on a functional outfit I can run around all day in, then head straight to a gig at night.” Jessica is the type who can mix high and low with such ease—you’ll see her sporting a Carl Jan Cruz jacket probably paired with Vans sneakers and topped off with a Gucci bag, and mind you, it works. There are times we’d see her in an oversized shirt, wide-legged trousers, and a pair of sneakers and she couldn’t look more confident. But it’s not really the clothes that lets her feel confident, “[It’s] when I’m performing, or finishing up a song,” Jessica said. She knows herself and that, I guess, is the game-changer in all of this.
“Tell us a secret,” was one of her questions, to which she replied, “Manila’s underground scene is a hidden gem.” Hypebae also asked about her plans for the year, she dished out things we should all look out for—a new EP, a bunch of music videos, and a few more performances around Asia. Since day one we knew that she’s the girl you should all watch out for.
