Another It-girl is getting a lot of hate on social media and we don’t understand why. Gretchen Barretto has been posting videos on her Instagram page wearing outfits designed by her daughter Dominique Cojuangco.
In the videos we can see her sporting a midriff jacket, a yellow blouse with bell sleeves, and a blue vest with hot pink fabric details.
According to Bandera, hate comments were posted by people who thought that Dominique’s designs were subpar. One comment reads, “The fabric looks cheap. Tacky design. Tbh, mas maganda pa designs sa Divi (the designs at Divisoria are nicer).” Agreeing with that statement someone said, “True. Parang tela ng mumurahing kurtina (the fabric is similar to that of cheap curtains).” Some even went as far to say that Gretchen has become a fashion victim.
Where is all this hate coming from? Dominique is a fashion student in London, pursuing what she wants to do and working hard for it. Let’s emphasize student as she is in the process of learning her craft.
She sketches her design ideas and makes patterns like any other fashion student.
Dominique comes up with garments for her different classes.
She is discovering her design process, her aesthetic and Greta is being a supportive momma.
