As Megan Young Co-Designs New Miss World Crown, She Reveals Its Deeper Meaning

Miss World 2013 Megan Young is one beauty queen who surely went beyond the call of her title. That’s why as she undertook the task of co-designing the new crown for this year’s Miss World Philippines pageant, she spoke of how it should represent more than being a beautiful model.

“We want it to represent charity, number one,” said Megan to Inquirer.net. She also said that it should symbolize something for the children to look forward to as the new Miss World does her rounds of visits and events for advocacies. “This would be something very special. There’s rarity in it.”

Megan, however, clarifies that she won’t get the final say in the crown as it is a collaboration. She’ll be inputting her ideas and how she wants it to be unique to Miss World Philippines.

The Miss World 2017 pageant will be held on Sept. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Apart from the Miss World winner, the pageant will also be awarding other contestants the titles of Miss Eco Philippines, Miss Reina Hispano Americana Filipinas, and Miss Multinational Philippines.
