Happy birthday, Solenn! The It-Girl is celebrating her 32nd birthday today. And one thing popped up in mind: How to look that hot at that age?
Superficial concerns aside, we thought this day would be fun to recap the reasons why we keep tuning in to this woman. From making it to the top three of Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown to Besties, from It Girls to #SolennArt, Solenn’s life and career has evolved into many different aspects. For this we are always intrigued. Though there may be some controversy involved, she still manages to stay relevant and continues to influence even but a little aspect of our lives.
Here are our favorite Solenn moments with a wish that there will be more to come.
#1 That dream wedding
Hey, cheesy or otherwise, we love a good celebrity wedding. #SosBolz sure did trend as Solenn tied the knot with husband Nico Bolzico. With a dream team involved and a touching wedding video that we secretly play when we need to feel a little less bitter about life, we were suckers for it.
#2 Expanding the Solenn brand
When we caught up with Solenn a year ago, she said she wanted to make her name into a distinct brand. We asked her what she wanted to achieve that year and she said, “Identify myself as a brand. I don’t want to be known as a multi-[hyphenate]. I want Sos to be a brand. I want to be all around and everywhere.”
She just didn’t say it but she did it. From wines to shirts plus an upcoming collab with Mia Arcenas, Solenn is beyond just a smiling endorser. She’s sharing her passion with everyone also.
#3 Letting Nico do her makeup
This video is also something we play when we need a laugh. Nico, being the accidental star that he is, complements Solenn quite well. We just love their adventures together and we find it hilarious as Nico does his best to make #Wifezilla happy.
#4 When she shut down slut-shamers
Solenn is fierce, no doubt. And when a celeb like her gets down to the comments section, it’s pure gold. This is what happened when she taught trolls about rape and consent in light of her TV appearance on GMA’s Karelasyon where her character was subjected to sexual assault.
#5 When she was over fat-shaming
Solenn is a #fitspo but in light of body positivity, we learned we shouldn’t impose one type of definition of beauty to people. Solenn addressed this over her blog as she slammed people for greeting others with “Ang taba taba mo.” She wrote, “Whatever the cause, people now have forgotten that health is more important than size and that meaningful conversations are so much[more]helpful than unsolicited criticism.”
