There’s no doubt that you still have your Sweet Valley High book collection stacked somewhere along with your other ’90s mementos. And you’re secret wish of it making a comeback is now a reality as a Sweet Valley High movie adaptation is officially in the works.
Not much is known yet about the film version of the beloved story of twins Jessica Wakefield and Elizabeth Wakefield. But one crucial detail is sure: It’s going to have a kickass script as Kristen Smith, the writer behind Legally Blonde and Harper Dill, who also writes for The Mick, a sitcom on Fox, have signed on to the project.
Hello Giggles points out how this combo is a winning hand given how Legally Blonde is an easy-favorite among girl power films and how The Mick proves to be a hilarious show.
Sources are however mum on how involved Sweet Valley High author Francine Pascal will be in the project. There’s also no hint if the original girls of Sweet Valley High TV will be in on it, although they could very well fall back into their roles given how they look like they haven’t aged.
