Preen Awards: The Real Winners at Star Magic Ball 2017

We know what you’ve been doing. You have been spending your lazy Sunday looking at the highlights of Star Magic Ball 2017. It’s been a visual treat to see the gowns that graced the red carpet, along with going through the process of preparing for the big night. The ball itself did not disappoint with its different highlights.

But if we may, allow us to give our own awards. There are certain things the program missed that we feel deserve their own honor. Do you have any that you’d like to give a shout out to? Let us know in the comments section down below.

Best Red Lip: Heart Evangelista

In a black gown, slicked back hair, Heart pulled off a classic glam look. She topped it with a perfectly lined red lip that has us reaching for our lip liners and our favorite tube of red lipstick.

Best Transformation: Pia Wurtzbach

It was refreshing to see a different hairdo on Pia. The blunt long bob gave her an edgy look paired with dark brows and gold metallic eyeshadow.

Sweetest Couple: Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto

This real and reel life love team weren’t scared to show their affection during the ball. Aside from this cute selfie, Joshua also gave Julia a big bouquet of red roses while they were preparing.

Best in Black: Isabel Oli and John Prats

The couple came out dressed to impress. Isabel wore a black gown by Andrea Tentangco that has a long train. John, on the other hand, paired some Christian Louboutin shoes with his all-black suit.

Best Unlikely Duo: Raymond Gutierrez and KC Del Rosario

Poking some fun into the event, Raymond, who served as the host, showed up with KC. Raymond was in a velvet suit while KC was in sparkly and sexy Boom Sason creation that was blinding to say the least. But isn’t that the point of the show?

Best in Christopher Kane: Shaina Magdayao

We have to give a little pause for Shaina’s gown.  She wore a Christopher Kane dress which was a deviation from the usual styles we see with a see-through panel and shiny elements. The contrast in textures gave off a daring vibe.

Best Princess Moment: Kathryn Bernardo

While it was Kathryn’s turn at the red carpet, Daniel Padilla fixed her gown to make sure that it looked just right in the photo. Who wouldn’t feel special?

Best Fan Girl: Bela Padilla

Bela Padilla is all of us as she took photos with all of the people she admires in the industry. She also shared a small tidbit about how her life has turned around since she started out in showbiz to right now, with a screenwriter’s cap to boot!

Best in Keeping It Real: Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil

Let’s face it: All of this hustle and glamour can get tiring. Liza kept it true by doing what every woman wants to do when in heels during a fancy occassion: take those shoes off. Captured her in a wacky selfie with Enrique, you can’t tell me this does not deserve an award.

Best in Work-Life Balance: Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho

Sure, Dr. Vicki made sure her clients were pampered and ready a few hours before they hit the red carpet. But the dermatologist didn’t forget it’s her night too. She eventually made it to the red carpet with Dr. Hayden. Talk about working hard but also making time to enjoy life.
