Miss Earth contestants represented their countries with their national costumes. Among the Asia Pacific National costumes, Karen Ibasco won gold.
Her costume was made by Laguna-based designer Louie Pangilinan. “This is inspired by the Spanish era when we were colonized by the Spaniards. As you can see, there are crosses that also show that the Spaniards introduced the Catholic Church to us,” he told ABS-CBN.
Karen has also been enjoying the competition so far, “[My journey has been] great and I cannot wait got the coronation night. Everybody is nervous but I am excited.” We’re looking forward to it too as the coronation night will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Nov. 4. Will you be tuning in?
