If there’s one thing Filipinos love, it’s beauty pageants, especially Miss Universe. So it comes as no surprise that Miss Universe 2017 has reached the trending spot on Twitter. This follows the opening of voting for the candidates.
Last night, the pageant announced that netizens could start voting for their candidate of choice. They also posted the rules to make sure that every tweet counts.
Filipinos shared their support for Rachel Peters by tweeting and encouraging people to do the same.
Maine Mendoza also asked the AlDub Nation to help out Rachel.
Anne Curtis also wished Rachel good luck.
Rachel’s boyfriend Miguel Villafuerte placed his votes too by tweeting the official hashtags.
Kathryn Bernardo, Gretchen Ho, and Katarina Rodriguez made sure that people knew what the voting rules were since some were retweeting misspelled “Philippines.”
Others are also claiming that Rachel will be crowned the next Miss Universe.
One netizen wanted to take the opportunity to show the world how we can unite as a country.
