Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are Engaged. Now, Who Will Make the Dress?

Updated on Nov. 27, 11:26 p.m.

Three days after the rumors came out, it’s finally official: American actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are engaged. They have made their first appearance as an engaged couple at the Sunken Gardens at the grounds of Kensington Palace for their photocall.

This also allowed us a glimpse of the ring which was designed by the Prince and made by the Court Jewellers and Medallists to the Queen, Cleave and Company. Vogue UK reports that the center diamond is from Botswana, a place that’s special to the Prince, while the two outside stones are from the personal collection of the late Princess Diana.

Kensington Royal just posted the announcement via their social media platforms saying that the wedding is set to happen in the spring of 2018 and that more details will be revealed in the future. The Prince and Meghan apparently got engaged in London earlier this month and naturally the first to know is Her Majesty, the Queen and close family members. Don’t worry, Prince Harry also sought and received the blessing of Meghan’s parents who wished the couple happiness.

And as mentioned in our previous reports, the couple will be living in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. Just a few blocks away from Prince William and Catherine’s home. “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan,” said the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

Now the burning questions are as follows, where will they get married? Who will make the dress? Will it be another Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen creation or will she pick an American designer? Who will be invited? How tight will the security be?

Meghan will be the first American divorcee to marry into the Royal family, the first attempt was when Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson. Though that’s a whole different story.

Anyway, our hearts are fluttering here at the Preen HQ. Congratulations, Meghan and Prince Harry. We can’t wait for the wedding!
