James Reid and Nadine Lustre never denied that 2017 was a tough year for the two of them, but the rumors that they’re about to break up? You can forget about that!
Last Sunday, the couple guested on Vice Ganda’s late night show and as casual as they can be, they shared how their relationship is at it’s best state. “I think now it’s probably the most happiest we’ve been. We’ve had hard times, especially last year. Nadine and I went through a lot of hard times, but I feel like we’re at the happiest right now,” said James during the interview.
At the same time, Nadine also disclosed how she went through mood swings in the previous year and even described it as a roller coaster. “Last year ang dami kong pinagdaanan, grabe!” (Last year, I went through a lot!) she quips.
But what changed and how did their relationship get on a different level? The answer is open communication. “Nag-promise ako sa kanya na lahat ng nararamdaman ko, mas open na ako sa kanya. As in yung emotions ko, mga discoveries ko, lahat sinasabi ko sa kanya so parang nagre-recap kami,” (I promised [James] that I will tell him everything I feel. I will be more open—my emotions, my discoveries, I will tell him everything like we’re recapping what happened.) shared Nadine.
On the topic of how much they love each other, James said the most touching thing, “I need Nadine in my life. With her I don’t have to pretend. I can be myself with Nadine. With Nadine, I just feel I’m safe like I can’t explain it. Whatever life throws at us or even showbiz, I feel like I can overcome it. I feel safer.”
If that’s not enough to quash the rumors, we don’t know what will.
