Singer KZ Tandingan recently sang a jazzy version of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” on the Chinese contest Singer 2018. The rendition wowed the audience and even earned her the top spot which was previously held by Jessie J.
Aside from the jazz melody, KZ’s performance also had aspects of electronica and hip-hop. She even did a Filipino rap in the middle of the song which impressed the hosts and Jessie.
The winners every week are determined via audience vote. This is the first time that KZ got the top spot. Jessie finished second, making it the second time she’s lost to other contestants.
