The first superhero movie of the year is almost here and we’re very excited. Black Panther has been hyped up ever since the release of the trailer and the wait is almost over. With the red carpet premiere, soundtrack release, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s music video, we’re sure you’re looking forward to watching it as well.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Black Panther, he’s actually the king of Wakanda, which is a technologically-advanced nation in Africa. His real name is T’Challa and he is the son of N’Yami and T’Chaka.
Before you make your way to your favorite cinema and enjoy the movie, here’s a to-do list you might want to consider doing.
Watch Captain America: Civil War
To get a better understanding of Black Panther’s character rewatch Captain America: Civil War. He was introduced in this film and quickly became a fan-favorite. Get a glimpse of his fighting skills and killer black suit.
Listen to the soundtrack
Ever since the premiere of the trailer, expectations for the music were high. With the release of the official soundtrack and music video for “All the Stars,” fans are not disappointed. The playlist consists of tracks by Vince Staples, Khalid, SZA, and The Weeknd. Blast the soundtrack to pump you up for the movie.
Get your outfit ready
If you want to get glammed up before watching the movie, take inspiration from the red carpet premiere looks. The dress code was royal attire and the cast did not disappoint. You can opt for something colorful like Lupita Nyong’o or a patterned set like Janeshia Adams-Ginyard.
Book your tickets early
I like to book tickets early so I’m constantly checking for advanced selling dates. As of last week, you can already reserve or buy tickets for a few cinemas. Ayala Malls have started selling for Feb. 13 while SM Cinemas have released showing times for Feb. 14 onwards.
Avoid reviews
Avoid spoilers and third party opinions by staying away from reviews. This will also make sure that your thoughts about the movie will not be influenced by someone else’s. There’s nothing worse than going into the cinema already having preconceived opinions about the movie.
