News has been spreading that Mariah Carey’s former manager Stella Bulochnikov is accusing the singer of sexual harassment. According to TMZ, Stella will base this lawsuit on Mariah constantly being naked in front of her and “[doing] sexual things in Stella’s presence.”
People reports, however, that Mariah is denying these claims. Her rep said in a statement, “Stella Bulochnikov was terminated from employment as Mariah’s manager due to failure to perform her job effectively and ill-serving her client. Stella was not under contract for employment. She has been spreading false rumors to any media outlet that will publish them. We won’t respond to lies and threats.”
Last Friday, Stella’s lawyer filed a summons in New York “alleging breach of contract and violation of the US Civil Rights Act.” They also claim that they will go forward with the lawsuit if Mariah decides not to settle. Her rep responded to this by saying, “We will defend against it vigorously and successfully. It is also interesting to note that this is the first lawyer who will move forward on Stella’s behalf, having previously gone through three others who wouldn’t.”
Mariah hasn’t personally responded to these claims but watch this space as we await more updates.
