Cole Sprouse Apologizes For Instagram Captions About Manila

In case you missed it, Cole Sprouse was in Manila a few weeks ago but he didn’t just attend press interviews and meet and greets with fans. He went around Manila and took some photos. He’s been posting the pictures on Instagram but he’s receiving mixed feedback from his followers.

One photo he took was of a man sleeping on top of filled sacks. In the caption he wrote, “These casper ads are getting more niche.” One fan pointed out, “He didn’t mean his comment in a bad way, that is clear but regardless of his intentions it was in poor taste.” For another photo he wrote, “Well, I’m not your parent, don’t gotta follow me around.”

After the negative reactions, Cole responded via his Instagram Stories. “My apologies, and not my intention. Certainly not seeking to sensationalize poverty nor poke fun, [should] have thought more about the words used, and the implications of those words I hadn’t even considered.”

He went in to say that he will continue to share photos from his trip to Manila, “showing all sides of the city as experienced.”

What do you think of Cole’s pictures from Manila so far? We would love to hear your thoughts, which you can share in the comments section below.
