Singer Gary Valenciano underwent a coronary artery bypass surgery yesterday due to complications with his heart. According to him, it was “95 percent blocked and has thin walls” which was caused by his Type 1 diabetes. Meanwhile, his family has assured everyone that he’s doing fine via a statement and some throwback photos.
Kiana Valenciano shared a baby photo with the simple caption, “Superman.” She also shared her dad’s official statement on Instagram Stories where he explained that he felt a chest pain after performing with his son Gab Valenciano.
Gab also posted a black and white photo with his dad. While Paolo Valenciano shared a heartfelt message: “Focus on Christ and he will help you walk on water.”
Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano told Inquirer.net that Gary is “doing well” and that their family is requesting prayers for his speedy recovery.
As of right now, Gary has canceled his previous commitments and guestings so he can recuperate. “I know one day soon I will give my all on that stage again, perhaps in my spirit, even stronger than ever before,” he said in his statement. Get well soon!
