Kryz Uy Responds to Victim Blaming Comments on Her Video

A few days ago Kryz Uy took a break from her regular vlogs and decided to talk about a serious issue: sexual harassment. In this video she brought up her own experience as well as a quick lesson as to what sexual harassment is. “After reading more about this subject, I feel like I’ve been given this unique opportunity to talk about an issue that is very serious.”

She went on to talk about what happened to her. She was at a bar taking videos of the space for a client. As she was doing this, two men walked in and started waving at her. “I thought it was going to be a harmless encounter,” she explained. One of the men suddenly walks up to her and grabs her waist and says, “Are you looking for me?” Luckily she was able to react right away and say, “Don’t touch me. That’s very rude.”

For the rest of the video she explains what sexual harassment is and encourages victims to not put the blame on themselves. Despite this, people did not hesitate to come for Kryz in the comments section. On Instagram Stories, she decided to share some ignorant posts from those who watched the video. One netizen said, “Sexual harassment is a myth. Get a man.”

Another asked, “Just a question. What exactly were you wearing that time? I hope not something too revealing…” Kryz responded, “I HATE THIS QUESTION. It does not matter what you are wearing, it does not give ANYONE THE RIGHT TO SEXUALLY HARASS YOU unless CONSENT IS GIVEN.” Preach, girl!
