Bea Alonzo has set the record straight on her relationship with Gerald Anderson. After months of speculation, she revealed that they’re currently not together.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, she was asked about the pressures of getting married at a certain age in relation to her upcoming film Kasal. “Ako, siguro, may kanya-kanya tayong timeline, ‘no. I try not to get affected sa pressure na binibigay sa akin ng society. May kanya-kanya tayong journey, e,” (For me, we have our own timeline. I try not to get affected by the pressure that society gives me. We have our own journey.) she said.
It later segued to her relationship status with Gerald, to which she replied, “Hindi sa ngayon.” (Not right now.) She continued that they’re still talking and are in good terms. But for now, she’s “technically single.”
There have been rumors on their breakup the past couple of months. It started with news of Bea allegedly unfollowing Gerald on Instagram and deleting their photos together. Although Gerald once said that his love life was doing okay, this latest revelation said otherwise.
Meanwhile, in a clip from Magandang Buhay, Bea read a letter from Gerald, who called himself one of her biggest fans. And it seemed like they’re still really good friends. So we’re guessing that it wasn’t a bad breakup.
Now that the rumors have been put to rest, fans of the ex-couple can probably breathe easy now.
