The Taylor Swift and Katy Perry feud might be over but she still has beef with Kim Kardashian. This all started two years ago when Kanye West released a track called “Famous” with the lines, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that b*tch famous.”
According to Taylor’s spokesperson, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account.” When news broke, Kim came in with the receipts and posted videos of Kanye’s phone call with Taylor talking about the song and asking for approval. In the video she said, “If people ask me about it, look, I think it would be great for me to be like, ‘He called me and told me before it came out… Joke’s on you, guys. We’re fine.’”
What followed were a string of comments using the snake emoji, which Taylor channeled into her “new persona” for Reputation. After years of drama, she opens up about it at one of her concerts. According to Seventeen, Taylor said, “A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was gonna get to do this anymore and I guess the snakes… I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name calling to bully you on social media and even is a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to beat you. It can strengthen you instead.”
Now that she’s addressed the ongoing drama, do you think we’ll see another olive branch anytime soon?
