We’ve told you over and over again to not cross Kris Aquino’s line, but I guess Mocha Uson wasn’t listening. After a lengthy post and a controversial LIVE session with Kris last night, Mocha finally responded to the issue and ongoing debacle and it wasn’t an apology. “Ms. Aquino, this is not about you,” was what she put out on her Facebook account.
Kris did not waste time and scheduled another LIVE session to end all LIVE sessions, at least for this issue. She started by reviewing Mocha’s response through her massive television screen then proceeded to talk about her next steps.
She iterated that no matter how many times Mocha says, “This is not about you,” it will always be about Kris. Because the topic of conversation was Kris’ blood and flesh, her father Ninoy Aquino.
Kris also replayed a clip from CNN where Special Assistant to the President Bong Go apologized on behalf of Mocha. He said that they talked and he advised her to apologize and understand that they have hurt her. But what happened was the total opposite and that was something that Kris couldn’t take.
“Mocha, you win,” she said as she explained how she just wants to end it. “You win because you hurt me. And I think that’s what you wanted to do. Nanalo ka dahil patuloy mong inapakapakan ang pagkatao, ang alaala ng dalawang taong pinakamamahal ko.” (You win because you continued to step on the dignity and the memory of the two people I love.)
“Yung sinabi ko na hindi kita uurungan? Nag-dasal ako and na-realize ko, ‘Bakit pa?’” (When I said I wouldn’t back down, I prayed after and realized, “Why do I still have to?”) Mocha did not want to fix the issue, so why bother to fight? From our point of view, it was a lost cause and there’s no point in Kris wasting her energy.
Kris also said that maybe it’s right that she doesn’t become an elected official so that she will continue to be the voice that people respect and listen to. And finally, she said that yes, maybe it’s not about her, but it reminded everyone how much the Filipinos love and respect her parents Cory and Ninoy Aquino.
Now that the debate is over, what’s next for Mocha? Because as far as Kris is concerned, she will just be back doing her own thing.
