Pride month is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t quit the cause, even if you’re not sure what it is. For Adidas’ Prouder campaign, they gathered different celebrities to help the homeless LGBTQ+ youth. One of those celebrities was Liam Payne, former member of One Direction.
In an interview with Evening Standard, he was asked “about what makes him proud in celebration of the campaign.” He might have been a little confused by the questions because his response was, “I think since I’ve had a little boy, everything changes in life. I’m aiming for him to be prouder of me, and already he’s making me a better man, which I think is incredible.”
After the interview was released the Internet was not forgiving. According to Nylon, one person tweeted, “I’m all for vocalizing their support but understand what you’re supporting.” And we agree. Did Liam just say yes to being a part of the campaign not knowing what it was about?
Liam hasn’t said anything yet since everything blew up in his face but hopefully he takes the time to educate himself about the cause he’s supporting.
