‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ is coming but is it worth the hype?

It has been two months since Avengers: Infinity War and the wait for the next Marvel movie is finally over. In case you didn’t know, Ant-Man and the Wasp will be showing in cinemas this week and we can’t wait to go see it. I’m sure many of you have unanswered questions like the timeline of the movie. When does the movie take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Hopefully we will find out soon because the confusion is too much. There are still a few days before the movie premieres, so here’s what you can do to prepare for the next Marvel film.

Read up on theories

You might be the type of movie-goer who likes to be surprised but I’m sure some of you like to read up on the film first. Not a lot of information about the movie is out yet but there are many fan theories. One theory from Bustle is that Ant-Man and the Wasp actually takes place before Infinity War. “And, given the fact that all of Scott’s friends and family appear alive and well in this new trailer, it stands to reason that Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place mostly before the final moments in Infinity War.”

The history

True MCU geeks would love to do this. You might be familiar with the movies but how about the comics? The films are obviously great but they did draw inspiration from these classic stories. If you want to learn more about Ant-Man and the Wasp like their history and relationship, Screen Rant has the perfect video for you.

Beat the weekend rush

Most likely everyone will be catching the movie over the weekend even if it will be on July 4. If you want to make sure you get good seats, try watching it before then. I suggest catching it on Wednesday or Thursday. And not to worry because cinemas schedules are already out and you can buy your tickets right now. Check here for Ayala malls, here for SM Cinemas, and here for Power Plant cinemas.

Rewatch

The first Ant-Man film was released three years ago so your memory of it my be a little faded. Before you watch the next installment, I suggest rewatching the first one. There might be plot details and flashbacks that you won’t be able to follow if you don’t. If you don’t have a copy yet, you can download it on iTunes.

Watch junket interviews

Prior to the premiere of the film, the stars did several interviews to promote it. In an interview with IGN, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly read and responded to user comments and Evangeline even gave her best impression of a shocked emoji. For Access, Evangeline talked about wearing the costume for the first time and having her kids on set. Our very own YouTuber Janina Vela also got a chance to interview the actors during a press junket in Taipei.
