The last Marvel movie of the year is out and we think you guys should go see it. If you haven’t watched Ant-Man and the Wasp yet, stop scrolling and read this first. Okay, now that the spoiler-avoiders are gone, let’s talk about the movie. Aside from being action-packed and tugging at your heartstrings, it was also a laugh fest. I mean, Paul Rudd did star in it after all. I watched a last full show last night and the cinema was full and we all couldn’t stop laughing. So, let’s recap and look at some of my favorite funny scenes from the film.
Giant Ant-Man
When Ant-Man goes big instead of shrinking, scenes are bound to be funny. It’s comical to see him handle human-sized objects since he’s a giant. You’ll see this throughout the film but my favorite would have to be Ant-Man using a truck like a skateboard/scooter.
Not quite small enough Ant-Man
Do you know that scene in Deadpool 2 where half of his body is baby-sized? Something similar happened in this movie. Scott had to use a new suit that wasn’t fully developed just yet. This means that the device to make him shrink or grow was faulty. So, mid-shrinking he stopped and ended up being kid-sized. Luckily he was at his daughter’s school when this happened so he was able to blend in but it was so funny see.
Prey vs. Predator
In a rush and in need for help, Ant-Man sought help from the ants so he could hitch a ride on their back. Unluckily for the ants, however, every time they would fly to tiny Ant-Man, they would get eaten by birds. During a pressing situation, this would have been stressful but I couldn’t stop laughing.
Scott Lang keeping himself busy
After Ant-Man’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Scott was sentenced to two years under house arrest. If you’re going to be cooped up for that long, you have to find ways to keep yourself busy and he sure did. There was even a montage sequence showing Scott singing karaoke, playing electronic drums, and reading The Fault In Our Stars. Oh, he even learned how to do close-up magic, which becomes a running joke throughout the film.
The world’s greatest grandma
Part of keeping himself busy, Scott also built an elaborate maze game for his daughter Cassie, which involved ants. They were made of cardboard boxes and even a slide that went down the stairs. The goal of the game was to enter a vault and claim a tiny trophy. The trophy was gift from Cassie to Scott and on it was engraved, “World’s Greatest Grandma.” Cassie explained that it was the only option left when she bought it. So whenever Scott was feeling down in the movie, Cassie would reassure him that he was, the “World’s Greatest Grandma.”
Is it a truth serum?
If you’ve ever seen a movie wherein a truth serum is used, it’s usually an intense situation. But in this situation, it was hilarious. First, there was an argument whether or not what was administered was a truth serum. Second, it was given to Luis who is the comic relief in this franchise. It already doesn’t take a lot of Luis to get talking so imagine how it was when given an extra push. The flashbacks in this scene were funny too.
