Here’s how to prepare yourself for the ‘Buy Bust’ suspense

After premiering in New York and Seoul, Buy Bust is finally making its Philippine premiere tomorrow. The movie stars Anne Curtis and MMA fighter Brandon Vera, who are part of a police team tasked to do a drug bust in the slums of Manila. The trailers alone show how intense it’s going to be.

Are you stoked to see the movie? Well, we listed some steps to prepare yourself before buying a ticket and entering the cinema.

Watch behind-the-scenes footage

The stars have been training hard for the movie, from shooting guns to hand-to-hand combat. Anne specifically trained in Pekiti Tersia Kali, a Filipino martial arts style for self-defense used by the Philippine army and special forces units. Go watch these clips to give you an idea on the effort they exerted to make Buy Bust as believable and action-packed as it is.

Do an action movie binge

If you’re not used to watching this movie genre, you might get easily startled with the sound of gunshots and explosions. You might even feel uncomfortable seeing blood. We suggest putting on ones with badass female leads like Tomb RaiderMad Max: Fury Road, and Atomic Blonde. Of course, you can explore other movies too to better prepare yourself.

Find a camo outfit—or something similar

During one of their promo tours, the cast of Buy Bust wore camo ensembles and rode on the back of an army vehicle. You can immerse yourself in the movie as well by shopping for similar outfits. If you can’t find camo-printed pieces, all-black ensembles with combat boots work too.

Get a haircut

It might be a high time for you to get one so you can use Anne’s long bob in the film as inspiration. Just bring a photo and show it to your hairstylist. Plus, this shorter cut will give you less time to wash and style your hair and you can easily swipe it away when it gets on your face. Not only is it a Buy Bust-appropriate look, it’s also practical for everyday life.

Grab lots of snacks

A study found that if you’re watching an action film, you’re likely to grab more snacks because you get distracted by what you’re seeing. You might also need the popcorn to calm your nerves a bit when the suspense gets too much.
