Nicki Minaj is currently being charged with allegations of physical assault by former boyfriend of 12 years, Safaree Samuels.
The former couple who called it quits in 2014 duke it out on Twitter, where Safaree recalled the “toxic” relationship and accused Nicki of “cutting” him which led to him almost dying. “I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself so they wouldn’t take you to jail.”
Nicki clapped back, saying her ex stole her credit card, which Safaree quickly denied.
A 2014 song by Nicki Minaj entitled “Bed of Lies” seems to have alluded to this in its lyrics: “I could tell you lying, get the f*ck out, don’t yell at me/I ain’t mean to cut you, I ain’t wanna catch a felony,” although her ex wasn’t mentioned in the song.
Nicki was also previously sued by Safaree in 2016 for physical and emotional abuse, which was eventually dropped due to “change of heart.” There were also accounts of the two having public arguments in the past over rumors that Safaree ghostwrote some of Nicki’s songs.
What do you think of this whole mess?
